Dear Families,
Winter weather in Kentucky can be unpredictable! To ensure that our students don't miss valuable learning time due to snow or ice, FCPS will be using NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) days this year.
What does this mean for your child?
On an NTI day, your child will stay home and complete assignments posted in Google Classroom or on paper for our kindergarten and 1st-grade students. Teachers will be available during virtual office hours from 8:30-10:30 to answer questions and provide support.
To prepare for NTI days:
What will teachers be doing?
Teachers will be working remotely to provide assignments and support to students. They will hold virtual office hours via Zoom or Google Meet to answer questions and help students who need it. You will need their connection links on our school website and on DoJo.
How will we know if it's an NTI day?
The district will notify families by email, phone call, text message, and social media if there is an NTI day. You can also check the district website, social media channels, and local news for updates. We encourage you to visit the district's website for more information about the NTI Weather Plan: https://www.fcps.net/weather We believe that this plan will allow our students to continue learning, even when the weather is frightful!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hill
